“HOME OF THE RIPPER”
Rutt’s Hut is a totally old school restaurant with a huge menu offering anything from broiled seafood to their famous Ripper hot dogs. Think old school diner menu! Rutt’s Hut is in an industrial part of the city in an old factory looking brick building.
They use Sabrett's all-beef hot dogs, deep fried creating the hot dog casing to split, basically it looks as though it’s been ripped… hence the name “Rippers”. The relish is just as famous as the hot dogs, it’s made with a secret blend of mustard and spices. (I’m working on my copy cat version of their relish… I always have a stash at home)
Cash-only, no-frills institution with a walk-up counter on one side of the building and sit down restaurant on the other. They’ve been serving their famous deep-fried hot dogs since 1928

In-And-Out — quickly fried, only in the hot oil briefly
Ripper - fried until cracked and split
Cremator - stays in the oil until it’s charred black
